Create Shortened Goo.gl Links (Bookmarklet)

by Akmal Wardak on December 18, 2009

The new URL shortening service Goo.gl by Google is only available for Google products for now, and it is not available for broad consumer use. However, Matt Flaschen has created a bookmarklet that you can add to your favourites bar and use it to shorten any long URL you want.

Goo.gl This Page! <— goo.gl bookmarklet

Just drop the above link into your bookmark bar and click it on the page you want its URL to be shortened with Goo.gl.

The bookmarklet will pop up the shortened URL in a toolbox that you can copy and use.
