Aviary, a popular web based photo editing app has a very useful service which you can use to take screenshots of websites right in the browser and do simple editing with just a few clicks.
You just have to add “aviary.com/” in front of the url of the website you are trying to take a screenshot of. Just like you would add “digg.com/” to submit a story to Digg.
To simplify what I mean, I will use Firefox.com as an example:
- Open firefox.com in a browser. (in this example I am using Firefox)
- Add aviary.com/ in front of the url when loaded completely.
- Aviary will start capturing the image and this should take a couple of seconds. (click to enlarge)
- on the left and right sidebars you have the basic editing tools such as cropping, text, lines, arrows, circles. You can also set the colors you want to use.
- Edit the way you want the screenshot to look like.
- Save the screenshot to your desktop. (ideally in .png format)
